Hello Mat
Great start to your blog the industry needs more people like yourself to put your hand up and stake your cliam. Driving a truck is a difficult job and many just don't understand it.

Keep writing. luv your work

These peanuts should be charged with premeditated (attempted - if they're lucky enough not to cause a death) murder. There aren't lumps of concrete or rocks just lying around on overpasses. Someone has to make a conscious decision to take a projectile onto the overpass, with the express intention of heaving it through someone's windscreen. Therefore, it CAN'T be a spur-of-the-moment decision...
I was lucky - never had it happen to me while I was driving... a mate of mine wasn't so lucky... but survived.

Once you get the hang of it it's easier than synchro. Just remember not to push the clutch all the way in and if you get muddled stop and start again.

Hey Mat,

Hows life on the road?

I have booked my first lesson next Wednesday using a Road Ranger gearbox. Any tips? I understand shifting is not quite as simple as a sychro-mesh????

Cheers,
Brad

Cheers Brad, sounds like you had a good run. You might have to upgrade the Haymen Reese to compete with the road trains out that way.
